Full compatibility of HP 363 inkjet cartridges
Before viewing the compatibility list, please note that there are two types of cartridge for these
printers.
By types, we mean different cartridge codes, different microchip information and different ink concentration.
The first type is known as the HOST cartridge and comes with your new printer.
The second type is known as the TRADE cartridge and can be purchased.
You must fit the HOST cartridges supplied with the printer to initialise the printer and these have to be replaced by
TRADE cartridges thereafter.
For Refilling purposes, there are NO known rejection errors from re-inserting HOST
cartridges that have been refilled, however there will usually be ink still within the cartridge when the printer is
telling you that the cartridge is empty, unless the Refiller only puts in the same amount of ink the cartridge had when
new. This usually means that the user is being 'short changed' by the printer software, because most Refillers are more
than happy to give the user as much ink as the cartridge will take. Our refill service uses the same concentration of
ink as the Trade cartridges and is therefore suited to the condition of the printer when a replacement cartridge is
required, making refilling a viable option.

The HP numbers on the cartridges that you need to purchase to replace empty cartridges in the
UK & Europe have to be Trade cartridges seen in bold above and those listed in the
compatibility list below. There are also other cartridge codes that can be used depending on the quantity packs you buy
there may be different numbers. However, as long as the code numbers don't begin with C93** you can use them as they are
Trade Cartridges.
If you get an
error message on your printer screen (HP Photosmart C5180) which says " 0xc18a0001
ink system failed ", you'll need to carry out a Master Reset
on the printer.
Something usually causes the error to occur and this is usually a failed microchip, out
of date chip or interruption when installing a new cartridge and this will have to be rectified before continuing. Most
problems are usually from the last cartridge inserted, so start by replacing that cartridge. You will also need to have
all cartridges with some ink in them or you'll need to replace any empty ones before continuing. Once the problem
cartridge has been replaced, keep it as it may still be ok to use at a later date once the error has been reset.
To reset the printer:
Press the On/Off button to turn off the printer, unplug the power lead from the printer,
press and hold both the "OK" button and the "HELP" button, then plug in the power lead, wait a few
seconds and release the two buttons, then press the "On" button.
Your printer will now initialise and you'll need to follow the on-screen instructions and choices on the printer. This
may take several minutes to complete. Your error code should now have disappeared and you will now be able to Copy and
Print.
If you get an error message on your printer screen (HP Photosmart All-in-one 3110) which says
" 0xc18a0107 ink system failed ", you'll need to
carry out a Master Reset on the printer.

problems are usually from the last cartridge inserted, so start by replacing that cartridge. You will also need to have

To reset the printer:
Press and HOLD the "OK", "Cancel", "Black" & "Colour"
buttons, keep them held and press and release the "ON" button until the printer has powered down, then release
the four buttons. Wait 2 minutes then press the "On" button to turn on the
printer, The printer will power on, then power off briefly, then power on again (if staying off, press the
"ON" button again to power it up). The printer will give the message 'OOB NVM
Reset' on the printer screen and then ask you to enter the Language and Country, use the "Arrows" and the
"OK" button to select the correct ones.
Your printer will now initialise and if you press any buttons at this stage it'll give the message 'Device maintenance
occurring do not interrupt'. This may take several minutes to complete. Your error code should now have disappeared and
you will now be able to Copy and Print. You will also need to update the Date & Time, to do this press and release
the "Setup" button, press the "Down Arrow" to option 5 (Tools), press "OK". Press the
"Down Arrow" to option 4 (Date and Time), press "OK". Use the number pad to enter the date in UK
format dd/mm/yy, it will automatically move accross as you type, then continue by entering the time. When finished press
the "Cancel" [X] button to return to the main screen.
